Hunter Rose changes clothes and returns to the party downstairs, where he trades barbs with a partygoer. As Hunter announces his departure, Stacey's scream from upstairs as she finds Palumbo dead body. This was a twist (young Stacey finding her uncle's dead body) that actually surprised Hunter Rose. What to do now that the orphan is an orphan again?

Another lucky acquisition that pleased several of my OCA wants. I wanted art by Phil Hester? Check. I wanted something featuring Grendel? Check. I wanted my first ever complete story? Check.

This is page 8 of an 8-page story that appeared in GRENDEL: RED, WHITE & BLACK issue #2 back in 2002. Each of the four issues included five 8page stories, all written by Grendel creator Mat Wagner. Red White & Black was the third 4book series.

The story is a simple story of double-crossing betrayal, but told with flair and a twist that Grendel deserves. The story features great pictures of Argent the wolf, Grendel, Stacey, and Hunter Rose.
