“Once again, there is but one law, one voice, one word on bleak Apokolips--
--and that word is Darkseid!”

Second page into the Legends series and Byrne & Kesel have just jumped to the front of the line of my favorite art teams currently doing Darkseid, cause that’s a money shot in panel 3 (and, just the burning red eyes in panel 5!). Okay, Darkseid by Simonson & Austin four years earlier was pretty badass too! Also, I like how this is still pretty early into Byrne’s Superman reboot, but mostly for me this is all about the Dark God of Apokolips with some JLA too, featuring Superman, Green Lantern, Batman, Shazam, The Flash, The Martian Manhunter & Dr. Fate!

Very nice as Byrne and Kesel update the Kirby look going forward for the whole New Gods saga!  The center square for the win!  No matter how you draw him, Desaad is looking as creepy as ever!

WOW that is a stunning piece!!! JB was responsible for bringing a lot of Marvel fans (myself included) into the DC Universe. What a fun time and a great piece. CONGRATS!!!
