Description
"Remittance Man!" by Bob Haney, August-September 1972. Letterer is unknown.

Third panel is the money shot. Even if Tiger survives the strafing, he'll be tormented by nightmares of the Remittance Man.

Much of the art seems hurried.

Changes on the page:

Panel 1: Word bubble arrow moved to the left towards the soldier's head. Whiteout covers up spots of grass. Last two sentences in narration box were replaced.

Panel 2: Lots of whiteout covering mountains, clumps of grass, and on the warplane's nose and fuselage.

Panel 3: Not sure what Kubert changed. However, it stands out as more polished.

Panel 5: Whiteout and stat cover "the end." Remittance Man's concluding thoughts whited out -- "Wonder who he was - where he came from? Guess I'll never know." Preceding panel's bubble includes the first thought, "Wonder who he was." Published page shows the sky drawn over the word bubble whiteout. Narration box has lettering written over whiteout.

Panel 5 awkwardly concludes the story. It needs a word bubble with the Remittance Man or Unknown Soldier's final thoughts. Or Panel 4 and 5 could have been combined.

Oh yes, the Remittance Man's legend can only grow if Tanaka survives and tells the tale to others in Japanese command!

Yeah that panel 3 is def the money shot! So expressive. Congrats on adding and thanks for sharing these story pages, they were cool to look through.

Wow, panel three  is an outstanding work of art on its own! Though I also love to see the plane strafing the soldiers on the ground. Nice!
