DescriptionI REALLY try to stay in my lane!I try not to buy oa that doesn't touch me nostalgically either comics from my childhood or the characters I loved..but sometimes I can’t help myself. And this page is one of those exceptions. Whenever I see pages from the Colon/Palmer run on tomb of Dracula .. I get stopped dead in my tracks. They are just gorgeous and for me one of the perfect symbiosis of title and art team.. they were perfect for that 70s Dracula .. gothic horror with a touch of hipness. So it’s safe to say I’ve talked myself out of buying quite a few examples. Those pages with Drac doing drac things get quite expensive!! But when this one popped up on eBay for a good price I popped it! Reasoning being the character featured on this page is a rather early version of Blade! And Blade does hit those nostalgic feels as I was a fan of his title in the 90s and still to this day watch the Snipes movies when I see them on . Plus it scratches that itch to get an example of that perfect storm that was TOD /Colon/Palmer Now onto the page.. this issue in particular is an oddity as colons pencils were lost in the mail and Palmer had to ink the pages on photo copies… so while this is the published version there are no colon pencils ok the page (if someone has the pencils I’d love to get them back together!) And oh man the 70s must have been fun!! Blade answers the door in some pj pants .. and the girl coming over in the middle of the night is in a bikini and trench coat! Now you may think something is going on here.. but NO she’s just hanging out dressed like this avoiding Dracula! When you see blades actual girl.. she just happens to only be wearing the other half of those pjs! And bikini girl don’t mind the dead guy on the floor!! The 70s must have been a great time to be alive! Social/Sharing |

Protip: When wearing a trench coat over your lacy undies, remember to actually close the coat around yourself.

Unless it's in a 70s comic code approved Marvel Horror Comic!

Rhat's a very nice page. To me TOD is the best work done by Colan on 70's.

It's a fantastic page...most of us would buy this page for the 2nd panel alone, but Daryl R would have jumped on it for those polka dot jammies Blade's in.

I have to agree. Nobody beats Colan/Palmer on Tomb of Dracula. This is two master artists at the top of their games, drawing and inking work that was the best of their careers. This page is a great example of the Colan/Palmer magic. A marvelous addition to your terrific collection. Great pick-up, congrats!

Nice page! It was such a great artistic team, with Palmer's crisp inks getting the most out of every expression. There are lots of Colan faves in there as well - finger on doorbell, characters standing in doorways.

I was a teen during the 70s Jason and never had this much fun! Great page from an outstanding title. They were hitting on all cylinders during this TOD run. Thanks for sharing your win here with us!
