I will give this page 5 out of 5 stars – not sure if that is as high as Jason’s 4 homerun ranking, but needless to say … this is an epic page and such great story-telling and artwork on the same page. Major congrats on landing a page that means so much to you personally!

Really cool with the samurai movie inspiration of shadows and grid pattern. JRJR's first issue and he was operating to ease his style in by having some remnants of Paul Smith in there too.

As a Wolverine fan, I think all the stuff with him and Japan/Mariko/The Hand, is my favourite of all-time. This is a classic page from a classic issue, and for me at least, one of those rare times where I find the words and the meaning behind them is even more important than the art itself!

Great page that helps tie up the loose ends from the shocking wedding twist! UXM #176 was the first comic I ever bought with my own money back in 1983 so I remember this issue well!

This is one of the really great love stories in all of comics.When I read this convesation, I am moved by the strong emotions that Logan and Mariko feel for one another. They love each other truly, but they still must do what they feel honor-bound to do. It's rare that any comic delves so deeply and so honestly into the emotional ties that bind us--to family, to country, to loved ones and to one's own sense of right and wrong, honor versus shame. I wish more comics would deal with the true emotions and pain that we, as humans, experience. This is a great page from a great storyline. I'm so happy that you were able pick up such a meanigful,.powerful work of art that touches you.
I don't know how I missed you posting this! Really lovely page - I had a classic X-Men collection, 'From the Ashes', that I read all the time growing up. This was the last issue in the collection, and it really made an impact. Congrats Carl!
