Description
To me, Romita Sr. is the archetype of what Spider-Man (and comics in general) are supposed to look like. I'm so grateful to be able to hold a small piece of that history in my hands and look at it.

This page was cut up so that parts of the story could be reprinted in Amazing Spider-Man #117. This particular panel didn't make it into the new version, but it appears that they at least considered including it, because most of the ink wash has been removed and some background inks were added. Also of note is that Spectacular #1 was Romita and Mooney's first issue together - you can tell they both went all out for the black and white format.

The facial expression is so clear and of a pure evil!  Real classy office too showing the elitist throwing a tantrum when they don't get their way.

Thanks! Congratulations on your Romita pages too. I see you have the page that the top of this one was remade into for ASM #117; it's cool to see what it became.
