Description
This is a great page from Ron Garney's JLA run. This one, from the Kurt Busiek "Syndicate Rules" storyline, features the five members of the Crime Syndicate (Owlman, Ultraman, Superwoman, Johnny Quick, and Power Ring) sitting in lounge chairs in space. After Superman asks them for help, they laugh and send him away. Then they munch popcorn and watch the show.

I put this in my Green Lantern gallery because it fits the vibe. How could it not? With a character named Power Ring, and is the alternate-earth version of Green Lantern? This may be a page from a JLA title, but it is a Green Lantern page to me.

This also finally puts a Ron Garney page in my collection. I got this at the Baltimore Comic Con, and Ron could not have been nicer or easier to speak with. Unlike other artists with all pages in binders, Garney had stacks of pages just sitting around, along with a couple of binders. It was such an easy-going vibe. The man has drawn so many great books (and characters,) it was hard to pick a single page.

Ron had some great stories to tell. He said this was his favorite page of the Syndicate Rules story, and who am I to argue with him. He spoke fondly of working with Dan Green. And Ron was just a pleasure to be around. He was the last artist my daughter and I visited at the con, and I'm glad we got the opportunity. If we had not been so fatigued by that point, I probably would have stuck around his table a lot longer.

Crime Syndicate is a great draw as they rarely happen and even more rare than the Earth 1 and 2 crossovers.
