DescriptionJohn Romita Jr. wasn't an artist at the top of my collecting bucket list. But so many good splash page examples, primarily from this 2012 Avengers run, have been coming up on the auction sites, it seemed foolish not to jump at one while they were still selling for as cheap as they are.I know it isn't 90's X-Men or Daredevil: TMWF, the two runs I remember him best for during my childhood collecting days. But this one still seemed like a pretty cool moment to own, when Steve Rogers invites Red Hulk (Thaddeus Ross) to join the Avengers. John was a regular at Heroes Con in 90's when I was going every year. When I brought my first sketchbook in 1999, I asked him for a quick sketch. And he took quick sketch about as literally as anyone I've ever seen. More like a doodle. At that point in my collecting, I was just happy to have it. Now I'm even happier to have this example. Very cool moment in Avengers history! It immediately pushed Red Hulk into the top tier of characters when joining the Avengers. These important moments are documented through the artistry of JRJR and Janson for a reason. They are the most reliable and their art will always be synonymous with Marvel.
