Rogue & Magneto (Hades & Persephone) by Jan Reiser

One of the nice things about Alte Kongresshalle, the venue of the Munich Comicfestival, is that it comes with a beer garden attached to it. This is where Jan Reiser drew this picture of Rogue and Magneto as Hades and Persephone. June 2025.
There are a variety of myths about these Greek deities, besides the more familiar ones there are for instance the "dissenting" ones of Orphism and the Eleusinian Mysteries. In one version I've seen, there is a kind of tripartite co-operation: Hades looks after the seeds of plants while they lie inert in the ground, spring goddess Persephone/Kore makes them germinate, and her mother Demeter (not pictured here) brings them to full fruition.
