Description

“When its citizens suddenly vanish, a small town becomes ‘Death-Hive, U.S.A.!’”

Finally, a second Captain Victory page! This one topped with the Dreadnaught “Tiger”, which was designed like some Kirby meets M.C. Escher fever dream—and I couldn’t get enough! It looked like it rearranged itself every panel, and it was some twisted contest between Jack and you to determine if it was upside down, inside out, or right side backwards! With only Jack-adjacent fill-ins like Thundarr the Barbarian, I do remember how amazing it was just knowing Jack had returned, and with the mighty Mike Royer in tow!

One thing about complex Kirby machinery, Kirby knows the secret how to keep them looking interesting! This is 1981 and it still has the fine quality of 70's Fourth World Kirby.

Love the dazzling machinery at the top, but my favorite panels are at the bottom. Love the POV and design in each panel
