Zoe Thorogood was nomiated for three Eisner Awards for her work with writer David M. Booher on the comic book adaptation of Joe Hill's RAIN, first published in novella form in the author's exceptional STRANGE WEATHER (a bit of a nod to his father, Stephen King's DIFFERENT SEASONS). Since then, Image comics has published Zoe's incredible autobiographical graphic novel, It's Lonely at the Centre of the Earth, as well as Hack/Slash Back to School, both of which she wrote and illustrated.

Joe Hill has seen many of his literary stories adapted to other media, and has developed several of his own comic series, including Locke & Key —which was subsequently adapted to a series for Netflix, who also adapted In the Tall Grass, written by Joe and his dad. AMC adapted NOS4A2, and Sinister director Scott Derrickson adapted The Black Phone and its sequel. Abraham's Boys, a sequel to Bram Stoker's Dracula, was adapted to film from a short story in 20th Century Ghosts earlier this year (2025).

This is page 5 from RAIN issue 4. It's a perfect example of Zoe's elevated talent for storytelling. She'll be appearing at OAX in Orlando this coming February.

All the marks on the margins get the pen nib right for the pin point details needed for the drawing.  It works like a pattern on a frame mat.

Based on page 6 I assume page 1 was indeed them digging graves now based on the emotional weight of this page!

Very nice, and even better, no clipped corners!
