Cockrum at his best!  The Shi'ar and Starjammers revisted in the second run shows a whole new generation of readers those glorious Cockrum designs!

Wow-- fantastic page!  I love Cockrum's Imperial Guard designs and this is beautifully illustrated.  I'll have to check, but I think it might also be the "birth page" for some of those new characters in the bottom panel.

Yeah I think Dave gave up on the LSH homage since Claremont and Byrne had already introduced a few new members in X-Men #137. I checked the comic and the bottom panel is the first appearance of the "Borderers" division of the Guard with new members (from left to right) Sea Spine, Webwing, Sp'yxx, Trypthe and Blackthorn.  The feline guy on the left is N'rill'irēē who was introduced in issue #155,
