Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs Movie Poster (Walt Disney, 1937)

Walt Disney's first feature-length animated film was heralded by this wonderfully detailed movie poster illustration by children's book artist, Gustaf Tenggren. Hired by The Walt Disney Company in 1936 to work as the stylist on Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Tenggren created the distinctive, "Old World" look that Walt Disney sought for his breakthrough animated feature. The talented artist perfectly captured the timeless beauty of Snow White, as well as the unique characteristics of each of the Seven Dwarfs, who took on starring roles in the film after being delegated to minor characters in the story written by the Brothers Grimm. The images of the Old Witch/Evil Queen, the Prince, the Huntsman, and even the castle and all of Snow White's wilderness friends provided moviegoers a stunning visual sample to the wonders which awaited them in the theaters.
