I think Betty sees plenty right where she is.  She can see Achie's acne and the bandaid he is wearing on his chin area from giving himself a bad shave.

Fun (half) page!  There's a surreal quality to the sky ride, with non-sequencial numbering, unequal spacing between cars, and nutty perspective.  I'm sure the artist is trying to convey Archie's social anxiety to the reader's mind with these visual tricks
