DescriptionGorgeous ink-wash title splash page of the ditzy and naive, yet beautiful Pussycat from the story “She's Out in Front!,” by the talented Jim Mooney. This splash features a lovely, full image of the buxom blonde bombshell Pussycat being admired by four wide-eyed horse-track promoters, one that proposes to make her their very first female, "Filly of the Year!" These early 1970's Pussycat stories revolved around sexual innuendo and other risqué humor, while featuring scant, implied nudity. These tales eschewed outright blatant nudity and revolved around the naive Pussycat - a beautiful and kind buxom blonde, who often ends up taking her cloths off in front of gawking males. And, even though Pussycat is oblivious to their lustful schemes, she usually ends up successfully completing her objective despite, and even because of, her total lack of awareness of the situation and circumstances unfolding all around her even with the "deck being stacked" against her. Pussycat's adventures were tied to the spy/ espionage genre. She was a secretary for S.C.O.R.E. (Secret Council of Ruthless Extroverts), recruited to fight the agency's arch nemesis, L.U.S.T. (Legion of Unsuitable Sinister Types). Again, despite her utter lack of sophistication, experience, intelligence and wisdom and overall situational awareness, the ditzy Pussycat emerges from her missions with surprising success, due to her mesmerizing good-looks and frequent wardrobe malfunctions, which distract the enemy.Sexual satire at its finest! Multiple dates on the reverse side (1970 and 1984), as this story seems to have been reprinted several times in different Marvel publications owned by Martin Goodman. Art image is a bit wider at 11” x 15,” due to the magazine format. Social/Sharing |

Mooney's Pussycat made Little Annie Fanny look masculine.
