The craggly surface texture is very nice with the tone. You can see the real person underneath the rocks by the eyes and the way the cigar is held. Maybe Merino saw The Thing as Kirby too.
Fabulous portrait of the Thing by Jesus Merino! There is something about this portrait that lets you see the man beneath the rocky exterior! That's not an easy thing to do, but Jesus manages it beautifully.
