DescriptionBack when I was just a guppy my Mom would pick me up from my Elementary School in the heart of the big bad city and on Friday's she would walk me across the street to the Mom & Pop Newstand where I could take my allowance and buy candy or comics-- I always bought comics. If it had Batman in it that was always first choice and this issue of Brave and the Bold was my introduction to Mister Miracle who would later become a personal favorite.I love this era of Aparo, who I had the occasion to table next to and build a connection to at one of those old classic New York Comic Shows-- a very nice man. This era of Aparo when he was inking himself as well as handling the lettering had such a unique feel to it- the shadows are rich and dark, the forms have great texture and he masters how lighting effects the figure. Of all the pages in the book, this one might not have action, but it's got mood and that's what I was looking for. So happy to get this during CAF Live 12.0

Great page! Aparo on B&B is always a classic. I think this was my second B&B issue when I was a kid.

My first exposure to Jim Aparo was Weird Adventure 435 with the Spectre. I was hooked immediately. Jim's 1970s work is amazing, and this is a beautiful example. The modelling and ink-textures are so gorgeous, but that last panel is flat-out perfect!
