Description
My one and done Woodring. A while back, I reached out to Jim and pitched him an idea. I heard that in the past few years, Jim stopped taking on bigger commissions, but I thought I’d give it a try. The Frank books have so many gorgeous landscapes, but few seascapes. I always preferred his seascapes but never had the opportunity for those pages. So I told Jim what I wanted, and he dug it. I added that I want the most intense version he can do and just run with it. The plan was this is my one and done example, and he didn’t disappoint. For what I like, this might be my favorite piece by Jim.

Update: This is now a print. For anyone interested it can be purchased from Jim at

A glorious spectacle by Woodring, but one that also suggests what has come before and what will come next. Beautiful.

This triumph can be admired from afar and up close to enjoy Woodring's unique vision weaving in his main cast of characters into this turbulent sea scape.

Your ship has come in.  That's a crazy nice piece.
