Early in the run when the story was still set in Louisiana, I also love that they mention squirrel meat, which believe it or not plenty of hunters in Evangeline Parish still eat, and not because they're surviving a zombie apocalypse, but because they enjoy it.  I've tried it once in a rice and gravy and it wasn't too bad.
