Description

Even though I grew up with 80s X-Men, the 90s X-Men were in good hands when drawn by the Kubert Brothers. Been wanting something by them for some time and when this Adam K cover came up, I decided to take a leap at it. Very Happy to have brought it into the collection.

*worth pointing out - if you look just above Wolverine, you will see a ghost image of him. That's because it looks like they statted him out to move him down to make room for the logo. The original art can be seen very lightly below the stat. Cool to see the process.

As always, thank you for checking out my gallery.

Marrow! Bone Claws! Doesn't get more 90's than that!

Talk about the line art being a revelation after seeing the published cover! Clean and dynamic. Great add, congrats Dan!

Agree with MLwhat a disservice that cover design did to the original art! Very cool and memorable pickup, man!

Nice 90s X-Men Kubert cover, congrats! They really added a lot of stuff into the background of the empty/negative space in that published version, the original art comes off so much cleaner and nicer even without any backgrounds.

Always f*n with the art for trade dress. This is light years better than the published. Congrats!

A great roll call of characters. The composition, with characters cut off at the left, really adds to the sense of movement and dynamism. Fun cover.

Here I am
X-Men with those memories again
And just when I thought time had set me free
Those arts of Duke keep taunting me

Holding you
A feeling I never outGroo
Though each of Andy's art from me has tried
Eighty two can fill that space inside

So there's no sense pretending
My art, it's X-Men inks

Just when I thought I was cover Duke
And just when I thought I could stand that Marrow
Oh Andy, those memories come crashin' through
And the X-Men go on without Duke

Is there no bottom to the well from which you draw these incredible pieces? Love it!

Like a side scrolling game on Marvel steroids!  Great cover and neat to see how no room was originally left for the logo.  Got carried away in the action!

The 90's are in full effect here! Maybe it's that I see more of Andy's work, but I don't recall either brother having such a cartoony style. In fairness, I'm not all that familiar with their post 80's work though.
