Description

For my second sketch card, I decided to go for someone different than Rocket and request my favorite character from the amazing Blacksad graphic novels. Weekly Blacksad's closest friend and partner on many of his cases. Im planning a mini display of different pieces by different artists that will have a few of the main characters from the series. This will be my second addition to that concept.

I was not familiar with Tony Parker artwork prior to getting this, but he has a very unique realism influenced style with striking washes, strong figures and dynamic angles. One might not expect he'd be fitting for a cartoon animal character with his realistic approach, but he did a great job capturing the character here and the colors are very vibrant and evoke the painterly look of the colors in the orignal novels. Very poeaswd to add this one to the collection, and the Mystery Sketch program continues to be unique and exciting for collectors who want to find out about artists they were previously unfamiliar with.
