Batman The Brave and the Bold 2023 #1 "Down With Kings" Part 1 pg 9

Even though this team first appeared in the Wildstorm 30th Anniversary Special, this is the first, full team action shot of the new Stormwatch composed of Phantom-One, Core, Shado, Flint, Ravager, and Peacekeeper-01.

When I first got this piece I had to examine it in the right light because Jeff Spokes's line work is so clean that I wasn't sure that it wasn't printed grey lines and then real inks over that. Nope, I can see the faintest of pencil lines reflecting under the ink. It just amazes me how minimal his pencils are before he inks over them.

This piece used to belong to Robert Lee and for over a year I'd pop onto his gallery and look at it. I even tried to get it as part of a package deal with some other art I bought from him but he wasn't quite ready to let go of it yet. Eventually we were able to work out a deal.
