Superman, still in a critical state after his recent battle with Gog, is recovering at S.T.A.R labs when a group of super villains appear hoping to take out Superman while he's vulnerable. Superman goes out against medical advice to confront these villains, and in the struggle with one of them they both fall into a nearby pier.

Wonder Woman rushes to check the pier for Superman when Heatstroke (an obscure Outsiders villain from the Masters of Disasters) swoops in, asking if Superman is down there and how angry she'll be if someone else stole the chance to take out Superman from her, but Wonder Woman doesn't spare any time for her and quickly swats her away.
