"Mr. Comic" Guy Don

Paper Rad was a hugely influential arts collective from Providence, Rhode Island, in the 2000s, who worked across multiple disciplines including but not limited to zines, video art, web art, music, and installations. The core members of Paper Rad were Jacob Ciocci, Jessica Ciocci, and Ben Jones.

Paper Rad is unique in the world of comics as it is one of the few examples I know of comic artists actively putting out comics while at the same time being shown and having exhibitions in both major galleries and museums including PaceWildenstein, The New Museum of Contemporary Art, MOCA, and MOMA.

This particular page was drawn by both Ben Jones and Jessica Ciocci, who drew Guy Don and Ramalard respectively. So much of Paper Rad’s work was hard to get a hold of with some comics or zines only having runs of 100, so much hard to tell when this is from exactly, however being that this was from Sammy Harkham’s flat file and the top referencing Kramers, it may be safe to assume this was a submission to Kramers that never made it to print. If anyone knows of this being published elsewhere please let me know.

I'm extremely happy to have a Paper Rad piece in my collection, especially with a last panel like that.
