The odyssey is complete. Even more remarkable, you produced a thoughtful writeup for each and every page. 👏
The speed force effect and Flash going up the mountain is the perfect note to end on. A great page of art, and a hopeful end to the story. 5 years flew by since Lightle's passing, and 4 years of occasional rememberance of his legacy through sharing these pages was a touching longterm tribute. Thanks for sharing.
Lovely speed effects, contrasting the dynamism against the still snow. The terrain is rendered so well and with great observation.
A perfect tribute to Lightle!
Great page to honour this artist. Cheers!
A wonderful page with which to cap off the years long tribute to Steve Lightle, as I've always loved the second panel here, which immediately made me think of "hope" and made me feel hopeful. The electricity he leaves behind is also sa nice touch to signal that he's moved on and this is the end. I liked and enjoyed the story when I owned it, but I'm glad I decided to part with it because it ultimately ended up in just the right collection!
Like Lightle, Flash climbed to the summit of the highest peak! So great how the trail of electricity is left behind for us to follow and admire for years to come.
I find it so elegant, neat and fine. As good as it gets!
Yeah gone way too soon....
Good to know he has a legacy that lives after him.
Thanks for sharing. I've always loved Steve's art and can't believe he's been gone for 5 years now.
He was having such a relaxing time until Spock showed up, spooked him and made him fall.
This is fantastic, Fred - a beautiful capping page (the summit, if you will) of the full-issue journey that you've been on, sharing page after lovely page from this issue with us. I am a -huge- fan of pages that (through excellent storytelling and the artist's sheer force of will and imagination) fly against the natural reading flow of a page, and Steve's use of stepped vertical panels, Wally's upward glance in panel 2 (and even the stack of text boxes in "panel 3") have us moving from bottom left to upper right before we realize anything's amiss. SO cool. The speed force crackle adds a terrific kineticism and launches everything upwards. GREAT page, FM! A fun way to put a bow on the book and a fitting tribute to Steve and his talent.
