DescriptionThis is one I've had my eyes peeled for for many years. I originally picked up a print for this at SDCC 2009. Peter wasn't there, but he signed them all in advance. There were 100 of them and all proceeds for this and one other print done earlier were to go to Jake Black's medical expenses. Steve Lavigne added colors digitally to this one. This piece was penciled by Kevin Eastman and inked by Peter Laird. This was done in 2009 during the 25th anniversary of the turtles and Peter said at the time that it's the first piece that Kevin and Peter worked jointly on "in many years". The piece appears to have been completed in the summer of 2009 and as we all know later that year, the TMNT would be sold to Viacom/Nickelodeon. This may have been one of the last joint pieces of art the two co-creators worked on while the property was still under the Mirage Studios banner. Anyway, this print was in my collection and often on my walls for years and I finally got the opportunity to obtain the original earlier this year. All 4 turtles on one page done by both co-creators? What a year it has been! Peter compiled photos of Kevin's pre-inked pencils and Steve's colors. I'll put the image in the "additional images" area. Social/Sharing |
