DescriptionWhen you have the chance to grab an early 80s page of wolverine drawn by John Byrne you grab it… even a quiet one from Alpha Flight. But anyway you slice it this is a pretty great page.. coming from a key early alpha flight issue.. retelling the the first appearence of Guardian from X-men 109 and the first time we get a glimpse into the backstory of Wolverine and Alpha Flight. Filling in some gap left to our imagination over in the mother ship of X-men. On top of that the team is a mess with Guardians recent death. This issue is where Heather takes the lead and her own journey to being a super hero begins. Also on this page is the first time Wolverine meets Puck … those cranky little Canadians .. again hinting at a deeper history for them but also more glimpses into wolverines past… oh and to my knowledge this is the first time John Byrne both penciled and inked Wolverine in a published comic!! No first appearance but a lot of Wolverine history packed into a quiet Alpha Flight page!Social/Sharing |

Cool stuff with Alpha Flight having so many X-Men ties to begin with and now Wolvie makes occassional guest spots by Byrne to really keep the book on top of people's minds!

Great page. Wolvie gets the Puck and he scores! Well a hockey reference is appropriate for these Canadians. congrats on the early/first "All Byrne" published Wolvie!

Looks like JB took some time on the inks on this page and it really showed. I need to go back and re-read some of these old Alpha issues.
