Spectacular, indeed. the bluish Savage in the foreground, and the red soldier in the background provide a nice contrast. The X crossing out the soldier raises the stakes and makes the viewer wonder is he marked for death ... or already dead.
IMO this turned out better than the old cover. George is a better artist now so that helps but he really had fun with this one. You can tell with all the mix media and detail he put in. Love the colors, congrats!
Love this painting! I also prefer this painting to the original cover! I like the style of the painting, which seems different from much of his work. He's indeed innovative.
