Description
Cover for Utopia #339. 11.5 x 17" Rudolf Sieber-Lonati (1924–1990) was an incredibly prolific Austrian painter and illustrator, renowned as one of the most significant cover artists for German "Heftroman" (pulp fiction) novels. He is estimated to have created approximately 4,000 paintings during his career. He is known for his lurid, striking, and often surreal illustrations, his work spanned multiple genres, including horror, crime, science fiction, and adventure. His paintings often included tentacled monsters. gleaming rockets and damsels in distress facing down incomprehensible alien horrors. Classic pulp stuff but executed with real artistry. Despite his huge professional output, Sieber-Lonati lived a private, almost hermit-like life in Bad Tölz, Germany. The Blitz-Verlag publishing house eventually acquired his entire artistic estate.

This is great!  A mass exodus in the wake of a catacysmic event for humanity!  The ship is part saucer and part biodome!

Painting every single person must have been exhausting!
