Description
Axa was created and illustrated by Enrique (Enric) Badía Romero and scripted by Donne Avenell. The series began in the British newspaper The Sun on July 3, 1978, and ended abruptly on November 6, 1985, in comic strip 2238 within the saga entitled The Betrayed. The storyline remained unfinished until the artist self edited the conclusion in 2012. Enric died in 2014.

The series was designed as a daily three-panel adventure strip, with two-panel strips being the hardest to find, especially if Axa appears in all her glory.

This two-panel daily strip belongs to the saga entitled “The Castaway”, which was published between comic strips 1678-1795. The daily strip is number 1754, and besides being double and very rare, is one of the best, with a general image showing the volcano and another image with Axa in the foreground.

Publication date: April 4, 1984

THIS IS A VERY CLASSIC STUNNING AXA' DOUBLE PANEL STRIP!

An amazing landscape panel and a superb Axa portrait!

Huge congrats my pal!

Another beautiful landscape by Romero, with such great technique to ensure that the scene works well at a small scale of reproduction. Nice piece.

I've never read Axa, but based solely on these samples, it's a gorgeous comic strip! Stunning art by Enrique Badía Romero. It's intriguing enough that I'm going to look around and see if it's been published in an English translation.
