Description
On this next page, we see our two protagonists walking around and discussing the merits of the world they live on.

The first panel does a nice and quick job at establishing the age difference between the two I find as Felicity is clearly younger.

I find that the close-up on her eyes in panel two is admirable in that Spiegle manages to actually matches her disdain of the violence of the world with the expression in her eyes, something not easily done with such a closed range of features.

The following three panels are super fun in that they are delineated by the narrator’s head, a bit à la DC horror title of the 70s, but also because they offer the kind of classic sci-fi tropes often found in older 50/60/70s sci-fi comics (think Gold Key): space monsters fighting amongst themselves in the jungle, sea monsters attacking natives on the beach and evil slavers working those poor cat people (who looks truly miserable here, again a testament at how thorough Spiegle was). Each scene has a different vantage point, looks grounded and offers believable depth.

And that last panel shows us both character’s reactions going in the opposite direction, as their personal stances are, with Felicity crying at this world violent status in a kind of romance comics pose while the guy is amused by what he sees of panel, providing the needed end of the page cliffhanger to help the reader turn the page.

Beautiful page!  Dan Spiegle is so underrated.  Loved his work on Blackhawk and DNAgents back in the day.

For me, it was Blackhawks and Crossfire that made me fall in love with his art (but I should indeed read that DNAgents run I bought years ago for his contribution ;)

At this point, what more is there to say? Dan's the Man.

Well, I would love to get one of his Blackhawk pages so there's that.

My favorite (never read but only seen images in your gallery) adventures of the cat lady!

I see a gorgeous close up of Felicity's eyes on panel 2, sort of see an Octopus in the next. And some great Dan Spiegle art throughout. That's as much as I can squint and comment on because Sadly for this guy the CAF app on iPhone crashes any time I try to enlarge the image to the full scan from the thumbnail - what the heck!

Wow, another page from the story that never ends! As Mark says, what else is left to say? A wonderful and underrated storyteller. Oh, I can also say I could use LESS ofthe ugly guy and MORE of Felicity. In fact, I would even take a lot more of the Giant Squid if it meant seeing less of the ugly guy.

If you didn't know the story, this page has a lot of romance comics in it with the dreamy eyes and the montage storytelling as they take a stroll together.
