Description
Last year at OAX, I was able to get my first commission from the insanely talented, Jonathan Wayshak.

I jumped at the opportunity to get another piece from him this year.

When we got to talk about it, I pitched the idea of a Geisha, but, as with any of my commission requests with any artist, left total creative control to him. He could do whatever would make it fun for him. Go crazy and have fun!

This is the result. And I am blown away by it. He ran with it and absolutely made it his own. I never see anything until I get it in hand, and that just makes it more special.

He had stopped by to say hi to my wife and I when we got into the hotel at OAX, and mentioned that the piece this year was more raw and more like his sketchbook work, which you can see throughout the piece.

There's just so much packed into his work, and this is no exception - the cats, the thought balloons, the inking, the use of color in just the right spots, the water, the nysterious fingers, etc. As always, the scan doesn't do the piece justice. It's just GREAT. Period.

All thanks and appreciation goes to Jon for creating this work of art. Thank you again.

Please enjoy.

Another killer example! All the pieces Jon did were great, but this was my favorite. Huge congrats!

Thanks!  Everything he did for OAX really turned out really nice.  Hopefully he or the new owners get a chance to post a few of the others that weren't posted already - some fun stuff for sure.

Was great to hang out with you and have time to talk at OAX.  See you soon.

Hi Mike!  Thanks for the comment.  Was awesome to see you at OAX as well.  Congrats on the Kubert pieces you landed.  Take it easy!

Thanks Corey!  That Nectar cover you picked up is pretty sweet too...

Mindblowing. That's my usual reaction to Jonathan Wayshak' work. This commission is no exception, The mysterious geisha, the two cats crawling out from her sleeves, the spooky fingers, it's all a mystery to me. But I like it.. Serious congrats on another Jonathan Wayshak enigma.

Thanks Bill!  Hope you are well!  Wish you were at OAX to see it in person.  If you are at SDCC, I might bring it along assuming it's not on the wall by then.  :)  Take care.
