Doll #1, Pg 27 (Rip Off Press, 1989) - Guy Colwell

A key page in the first issue of Doll, Guy Colwell's most successful work of the time, published by Rip Off Press and later reprinted by others such as Fantagraphics. The page features Doll making her debut appearance to a crowd that features the book's main characters in nice portrait reactions to seeing Doll presented for the first time. The main panel features some really beautifully detailed hatching and stippling technics that make Doll's seductive presentation really pop on the page. This scene is also depicted on the cover of the first book with Doll's debut. Illustrated in ink over graphite on over-sized illustration board measuring approximately 13"x18" and in excellent condition for its age. Signed and dated by the artist in the lower right margin.
