CLICK HERE FOR AUCTION LISTING!The Star Wars Holiday Special was originally broadcast on CBS Nov. 17, 1978. Set between the first Star Wars film and the then yet-to-be-released sequel The Empire Strikes Back, it saw the main cast reprise their roles to film new content. The special also featured an animated segment produced by the nascent animation studio Nelvana of Toronto, Canada. The 10-minute cartoon was entitled "The Faithful Wookie," and served as an introduction to the popular bounty hunter Boba Fett. Offered here is 2 cel setup featuring original hand-painted production animation cels, each on approx. 10x13" acetate sheet. Scene depicts tiny image of Boba Fett and Chewbacca riding the back of an immense dragon through the sea as a Dianoga creature raises it's tentacles and eye stalk from the sea's surface. First cel features Dianoga, w/image area measuring approx. 3.75x8.75" overall. Second cel features Boba Fett and Chewbacca on dragon, image area measuring 1.5x5". Cels have been taped to larger color copy bkg. sheet, w/overall size of 11x14". Some faint age spots to acetate sheets, but would make for Exc. framed display.
