Some of the criticism of Japan from other countries after WWII is because of media like this within Japan that paint themselves as heroes, erasing parts of history, and their schools not teaching WWII at all. If you don't know your history, you are bound to repeat it.
Cue "Flight of the Bumblebees".
Another great looking page from the story! Never saw Tora Tora Tora, thanks for the recommendation.
very nice, always like the ww2 pieces with nice planes done
I love Japan and I love Japanese people, but this page and its history is unfortunately part of both of our nations story. Trying to put myself in the shoes of the artist drawing this page at that time, and what must have been going on in his life and in his mind at the time, is just powerful. What a unique piece to a collection.
Tora! Tora! Tora!
Dynamic action scene storytelling! Combo of the plane speeding across the panels while getting closer to the reader as you move down the page...really effective stuff! Congrats!
