My Bernie Wrightson Swamp Thing #4 splash from 1973. I wanted this to compliment my Frankenstein plate. His two seminal works.

The use of light and shadow. The negative space around the wheels. The moon’s reflection off the church. A subtle and eerie yet powerful image.

He only worked on 10 Swamp Thing issues from 1972-1974. So great splashes are few and far between. This piece commands the room and I’m thrilled to own it.

Stunning! It's really fun to look at all the inking/finishing techniques that Bernie used here; you can tell he really spent his time pouring over this work.

Iconic. Hard to think of something better to compliment your Frankenstein plate than a Wrightson Swamp Thing splash, and this one leaves the viewer with a foreboding and haunting feel! Love the zip use too. And how you framed the piece came out amazing as well!! big congrats on this.

I should share my other frames for the pieces I post as well. I think framing is everything. A bad frame job can really ruin a great piece.

Ah yes,I remember this one many years ago coming up for sale and I skipped it,lol.Looks like it found a great home,many congrats on aquiring this incredible splash ! One of Wrightsons finest stories from the Swamp Thing era, while I was attending high school in 1973,totally cool !
