TROY NIXEY - Incredible Drawing of the WIZARD OF OZ Cast! Wonderful Pen Work!

Troy Nixey is one of the best damn ink-slingers in the business, and a hell of a good guy. I have many pieces by Troy, but I’m in the middle of the process of paring down my collection (an estate sale while I’m alive sort of thing), so I’m letting go of things where I have many multiples, including this incredible drawing of the Wizard of OZ by Troy. The four main characters are featured in the middle of this piece, surrounded by flying monkeys, with the Great OZ overhead. I’m not sure what I can say about the pen work, outside of the fact that it is absolutely gorgeous. The textures Troy created, from the fur on the monkeys to the hair in the wizard….it’s all incredible. And that doesn’t even begin to mention the wonderful characterizations of the Fab Four in the middle I love Troy’s take on all the characters, giving them a distinct personality separate from the movie. Just tremendous stuff. The drawing measures 17”x 14” and is in excellent condition. Troy signed the piece with his cartouche “N” next to the lamppost on the right. $250.00 + 20.00 first class shipping.
