Original concept Illustration of the ruined church altar scene from the opening flashback sequence of Hellboy (2004), created by Mike Mignola himself. This early design captures the desecrated holy grounds where Rasputin and his Nazi allies attempt to summon the Seven Gods of Chaos-Ogdru Jahad-from their crystal prisons in space. Drawn in pencil with colored pencil highlights, the composition includes crumbling pillars, saintly figures, and a human-scale silhouette annotated with an arrow labeled "HUMAN" to provide scale.
