Description
One of my goals at OAX 2026 was to get a Jim Woodring. I was pretty open to what I would get, but was hoping to find something with Whim. I went to Scott Eder's table and started looking through the stacks of art when I noticed Tyler T. standing there with a handful of Woodrings. There was a slight panic, as I thought "OH NO....HE IS GOING TO BUY THEM ALL!!!" Lucky for me they were not by Matt Allison LOL (though that will be the subject of another post). So Tyler confirmed he was probably only going to buy one. After much deliberation we both picked our favorites..
The piece I chose has Quacky flying a balloon and Whim throws a sharp rock that punctures the balloon. It is an action piece that had the character I wanted, being a bit of a menace. It was a really enjoyable process picking the pieces with Tyler, noting the highlights for each.
[Full disclosure: On Sunday I ended up picking up some more Woodrings that I will post at a later date].

Such a visionary and you can tell each line is meticulously applied to achieve this surreal effect!

It must have been quite the scene at Eder's table while you guys deliberated over your Woodrings! Nicely chosen! :)

Terrific example and timely since Quacky is going to be the lead in Woodring's next book.

This was definitely one of the best parts of OAX. Haha my pockets aren't that deep and I know who the real vacuum is! Nice 6 panel page from Congress.
