Happy Superman day and with the recent excitement of the Superman 75 (Death of Superman issue) artwork being auctioned off, I'm happy to add my first pieces from Rafael Albuquerque. Dan Slott returned to DC with a great first issue retelling some iconic moments from Superman's history and from my childhood (and many of our childhoods) with beautiful art from Rafael Albuquerque. Albuquerque's use of spotted black and textures work well to add weight and emotion from Clark Kent proposing to Lois Lane, the powerful shot of Clark's transformation to Superman in a single panel, to the reality shattering imagery as he faces off with Doomsday from a story that transcended comics into mainstream media.
