Eastman captures the elegance, style and self confidence associated with the upper-class American woman. The work is masterfully crafted and demonstrates a deep knowledge of academic drawing skills. The female figure is depicted in a classic pose with her scarf blowing in the wind, geese at her feet, and clutching a red umbrella and isolated against a neutral background.

She is related to the Eastman's of Eastman Kodak. She studied with William Merritt Chase at the Art Students League.
