Robert Funk Fine Art LLC presents narrative art grounded in academic traditions and strong conceptual thinking, with a style instantly recognizable as their own. Most of our artists are no longer alive. Their work still resonates and, in many cases, has laid the groundwork and as a reference for many contemporary artists.
We showcase an eclectic group of artworks based on the quality of each work rather than fads or database or museum trends. Director Robert Funk brings a multi-perspective approach to presenting art. He had good teachers. He studied with first-generation abstract expressionist Robert Richenburg and hyperrealist painter Janet Fish, and then, in Graduate School for Art History, with famed critic E.C. Goossen. He went on to work as a Photographer, New York Advertising Art Director, Art Collector and Internet Pioneer. These diverse visual experiences have led his thinking beyond the buzz of the myopic art world. He believes the commercial art world acts as a primary source for the fine art world.
