Apparently, I had to get this out of my head. I drew Madonna as Dazzler.
Long story ahead...
This was a small result of a playlist and an idea that was sparked by a cosplayer friend said that she wanted to do a Dazzler cosplay. That's it. She just wanted to make a cosplay.
Little does she know that whenever I get wind of something like this it sends my imagination rolling into possibilities for design, redesign, photo concepts, story, supporting cast, props... I basically end up making a little project to keep my mind busy between projects.
In the case of Dazzler I came up with a "MojoWorld Tour" idea that would have Dazzler abducted to the MojoVerse to become a new star. Taking a lot of inspiration from 1980's and 90's pop culture, pairing Dazzler with a band made up of members from alien races playing oddly familiar instruments. A Shi'Ar playing a synthwaver, a multi-armed holodrummer. That kind of thing. Instead of 'Prince and the Revolution' maybe it would be 'Dazzler and the Evolution'.
Mojo would be a media obsessed overlord hiding behind a 'Max Headroom' styled public persona. TV's/screens in his world would resemble eyes that project images and may function as extensions of Mojo's own eyes. (Like I said, details that I've mulled over to much)
An addition of Longshot would open the door for spoofs of music videos, like A-Ha's 'Take On Me' and Robert Palmer's 'Simply Irresistible'. The action star who's fallen for the new music idol.
All of that, plus Spiral, X-babies, Flashdance, and Punk X-men. All because someone said they wanted to make a Dazzler cosplay a little while back.
In any case, this was fun. Now I wonder what my lingering Lobo ideas will produce.
