Vader's Quest is a four-issue comic book miniseries set in the Star Wars Expanded Universe exploring Vader's immediate actions following A New Hope. Written by Darko Macan and drawn by Dave Gibbons.  The story features Vader's search for the pilot who destroyed the Death Star, as spies identify "Skywalker" and the Rebel pilot Jal risks exposing Luke.

Following the Battle of Yavin, Vader uses spies to track the pilot who destroyed the Death Star. Meanwhile, the Rebel pilot Jal, who missed the battle, is caught, but his information risks leading the Empire to Luke Skywalker.

This piece was published in 1999 by Dark Horse Comics, and features a brutal invasion carried out by Stormtroopers.
