Our Army at War #250 Pearl Harbor diaorama (1972) by Glanzman

"Pearl Harbor Table-Top Diorama" probably written by Glanzman. Cover date October 1972.

Although not a DPS, the two pages are stitched together because they were published as facing pages. 

Although GCD doesn't have credits for the art, it's similar to other Glanzman DC diaoramas. Glanzman designed, drew, and probably wrote all of the war ones and signed them. On this one his signature is likely covered by a strip of the original art cut and pasted below the motorboat to line up the two parts of the diaorama. Unfortunately you can't see the underlying art shining a bright light on the back.

I liked CAF member Lee Harmon's idea to assemble the diaorama for the CAF post. Although not very good at this sort of thing, I didn't expect it would take as much time as it did. I botched the first attempt despite following the directions. I found the tabs don't line up with the insertion lines. Flames in the bottom left also don't stay in place. You can see the final result in the additional images.

DC published only 20 war diaoramas. Maybe kids wrote letters complaining about what a pain they were to put together! No assembly was required for Battle Albums and those ran for nearly 20 years!  

The first diaorama appeared in Weird War Tales #5, May-June 1972, "Infantry...Queen of Battle." The last was "U.S.S. Lexington" in Sgt. Rock #308, September 1977. DC also did a few diaoramas for superheroes and even Rudolf the Red-Nosed Reindeer (!) in Limited Collectors' Edition.

Glanzman is credited with an unsigned Tarzan diaorama in Limited Collectors' Edition #29, August-September 1974. He probably got the assignment because he had drawn Tarzan for Charlton and Kona, a Tarzan knockoff, for Dell. Here is an illustration he sent Joe Kubert with Kubert's prehistoric creation Tor in the distance.
