Here is a Flash Gordon strip from February 2, 1974. To be honest I am not well versed in strip art notations as this is the first strip art I have sought out. Therefore, if anyone would like to chime in on the notations 2/2 and the circle around the 8 please feel free to educate me.

Either way, I have been collecting Flash Gordon strip books by Titan books lately. I originally started with a Dan Barry book, which covered a period of strips in the 1950s. I enjoyed reading them and have therefore decided to start at the beginning with the Alex Raymond issues. I figured why not pick up a space strip to compliment my reading and this one happened to pop up at auction. It came in a lot with two other strips. Sadly I overlooked the bend in the strip, but either way it is a beautiful looking strip. I love the heavy inks of space and love the shadowing in the second panel. The other two were fun as well, so I may have fallen upon a little side collection as I continue to read the strips.

I mean the 2/2 is February 2nd. The 8 in the circle is the 8th strip in the storyarc.

Man, that first panel has so much intricate work. Stunning! The heavy shadow on Flash's left side is really nicely done as well. A beautiful example to start off with!
