Fantastic Ivan! We should all face the doors in our lives with such courage. This is a great testament to a genius that worked onward as long as he could. Congratulations...and a beautifully written tribute to one of the greats.
So great! It shows his willingness to face the unknown on the other side.
Wonderful example...these final artworks have a certain fragility to them that is just so touching...congrats Ivan on adding this gorgeous piece of history!
A great, late KK example. Existential and down to earth at the same time
Congratulations Ivan! That late Herriman artwork is so painfully beautifully, like Billie Holiday's last songs. The pen work no longer has the snap of his earlier strips, but has an honesty about it. I love that panel in which Herriman scratched out some of the ink work. Beautiful work.
The writing on the back was pretty typical on King Features strips. Someone at the syndicate wrote the strip's captions like that. I read it as "Krazy Craves Privacy".
Great description for a great late KK daily example. Completely agree. These kind of trascendental and deep messages are the quintessence of any remarkable KK, much more than the classic brick throw. I really love your piece.
