Bryan Hitch - JONAH HEX

Going to continue on this Jonah Hex ride.

From Bryan Hitch, the artist on the Ultimates, JLA, the Authority and now Redcoat, comes this full blown Jonah Hex.

Bryan went above and beyond with this commission. My commission request is always the same, 11x17 full figure (usually inked) no background. Simple. Some artists stick to that and others embellish a little more. I don't ask for anything specific, I leave it up to the artist to draw Hex as they see him. The artist I've talked to (after commissioning them) usually enjoy drawing Hex. It is not your typical request and lets artist stretch, maybe experiment, a little. As one artist put it it's Jonah Hex, a western cowboy, he's wide open to interpretation!

Hitch does an awesome job keeping the focus on Jonah by placing him high on a horse surounded by ne'er-do-wells. The horse is impressive in itself and it's a great action scene. I see the Jose Luis Garcia-Lopez influence on this.
