Two pivotal pages from one of the most ambitious issues Bill Mantlo ever wrote — Rom confronting Galactus himself on Wraithworld as the Devourer's Energy Converter corrodes in the planet's acid rains, and then the stunning denouement: a battered Galactus laughing at the sheer unpredictability of it all. Sal Buscema rendering Galactus at full cosmic scale in ink and white paint highlights is a sight to behold on original Bristol board. Rom Spaceknight was the beating heart of late Bronze Age Marvel continuity, and these two pages capture the series at its most daring. Of everything in this collection, these were perhaps the hardest to release.
