Description

Here is the final installment of "Spectre Pages I Bought From Gavin Guidry".  Per usual, I saved the best for last.  I am confused by the leterers use of BOLD in the text across all 3 pages I have.  I interepret bold letters as something that should be read with a little more emphasis.    Let's take this page for example.  The spectres last sentence is "Do WHAT YOU MUST, Flash".  To me, it would make more sense for the Spectre to say "DO WHAT YOU MUST, Flash" or "Do what you MUST, Flash"

Personally I think the spectre should get the E F Hutton treatment and everyting he says should be Caps & Bold.

MAYBE, I'm just reading into it a little too much?

You'd have to ask Lemire if he wrote it that way because he envsions Spectre to have Christopher Walken's speech pattern.

You are 100% spot on about bold being used for emphasis, Scott, and it SHOULD have been used exactly as you suggest. But that is something I notice REGULARLY in comics, the letterers constantly emphasising the wrong words. Thankfully the art is wordless!
